Discover the magic of Basque mythology characters at our children's workshop

Did you know Basque mythology is full of fascinating, mysterious beings? At this workshop, the smallest in the family will have the chance of visiting a magic world full of stories, adventures and creativity. The perfect activity to connect with our cultural roots in a fun, unforgettable way!

What will we do at the workshop?

  1. Creative masks workshop: Each child can choose their favourite character, and decorate a mask inspired by him or her. We'll use colours and a lot of imagination so that each participant can bring home a unique souvenir made with their very own hands. Dive into the rich world of Basque mythology as we discover legendary personages such as:
    • · Tartalo, the feared man-eating mountain-dwelling cyclops.
      · Lamiathe charming female figure with webbed feet, combing her long golden hair by the water's edge.
    • · Herensuge, the dragon standing guard over caves.
    • · Mari, goddess of nature, creator of storms and protector of the earth..
    • · Sorgin, the wise witch, with her knowledge of the secrets offered to us by nature.
    • · Galtzagorriak, or mischievous little imps. Small as needles, and stronger than any man.
  2. A guided tour of mythology: After the workshop, in stories full of emotion and curiosities, the children will learn about local legends as they move through a space designed to fire their imagination.
