The tours

In this guided tour, as well as getting to know the buildings that make up the Igartza Monumental Complex, the activity that the building played host to at that time is explained: its importance as heritage is highlighted, the connections are brought to light between the buildings, there is an explanation about which historical character lies behind this… In this way visitors can travel from the Middle Ages right up to the present day and become aware of the historic importance of these monuments.

This guided tour is provided all year round at the times shown at the Information Point. There is no need to book in advance; this is only necessary if the tour is outside opening hours or in the case of large groups.

This guided tour offers another way to get to know Igartza and its residents. In this case we use local histories and legends from this area in order to make known the Monumental Ensemble. Based on the perspective of the people who lived here, a legend is told that has something to do with each building in order to see how the residents of Igartza used to understand the world.

This guided tour needs to be booked in advance.

Men specifically played the leading role in the origins of Igartza because of the War among the Bands of noble families. However, women were behind the restoration and the important contributions made at Igartza.

In this guided tour we explain the lives of different women in the history of Igartza, their contributions, and of course, their interrelations...  From the Middle Ages to the present time, starting with María López de Yarza and ending with Martina Irizar.

This guided tour needs to be booked in advance.

Beasain has always had close links to industry; however, where exactly did industry begin in Beasain?

This guided tour aims to show the influence that Igartza had on industry in Beasain, as the early stages of industrialization took place in this neighbourhood up to the start of the first blast furnaces in the province.  The beginnings and development of this industrialisation process can be more easily understood thanks to the mill, the ironworks and the hydraulic infrastructures that have survived in the Monumental Complex.

This guided tour needs to be booked in advance.

Given that the Igartza monumental complex is home to a very diverse cultural heritage, guided tours are offered to present its history and its particular values. In this way we can discover how society has evolved (professions, customs, power relations, etc.) from the Middle Ages until the present day
